The American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) has declared National Mosquito Control Awareness Week from June 26 to July 2, 2016. “The goal is to educate the general public about the significance of mosquitoes in their daily lives and the important service provided by mosquito control workers throughout the United States and worldwide.”

The Bacterium Wolbachia Prevents Mosquitoes from Transmitting Zika
“They found that mosquitoes carrying Wolbachia were less likely to become infected with Zika virus after feeding on viral blood, and those that were infected were not capable of transmitting the virus in their saliva.”
This approach is now being tested in theses 5 countries Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Hydramethylnon Chemical Family: amidinohydrazone
Class 20 is a slow acting toxicant Mitochondrial Complex III Electron Transport Inhibitors which causes a decrease in physical activity, as well as a decrease in respiration
Non Repellent
Its not a class

Insecticide resistance and diminished secondary kill performance of bait formulations against German cockroaches (Dictyoptera: Blattellidae). The first evidence for hydramethylnon resistance in any insect.

Environmental Fate of Hydramethylnon
In soil Hydramethylnon breaksdown or primary degradation is through photolysis, The soil photolysis half-life of hydromethylnon is 5 days.
In field conditions hydramethylnon is very unstable when exposed to sunlight.
In daylight hydramethylnon has a half-life of 12 hours or when exposed to heat above of 125.6 F, However in the absence of light decomposition is relatively nonexistentt.
Hydramethylnon has a high soil adsorption coefficient causesing it to bind to soil particles, making it unavailable for microbial degradation.
In bait formulations hydramethylnon is safer for non target insects and beneficial because it is selectively toxic to insects with chewing mouthparts since it functions as a slow acting stomach toxicant.

36 years after the introduction of hydramethynon they are still developing new applications.
24 years after the first roach gel bait using it many pest control professionals still refuse to use roach gel baits and if they do use it still use it in together with baseboard sprays of repellent insecticides and still many do not understand secondary and tertiary kill effect or horizontal transfer/transmission.

100% of our customers use the gel baits with the stations, tablets, dusts and sprays together not reading the labels and not understating how any of these products work if they only read the instruction used the gel and station together place the dust behind the walls, seal the holes and clean they would get rid of roaches.
